Burt was an avid runner and cyclist who tragically transitioned this life way too soon. Burt was committed to encouraging\, inspiring\, and motivating everyone he met to engage in a more active and healthier lifestyle anchored in fitness.  Burt didn’t just encourage others\, he led by example participating in numerous events annually\, including the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race\, Calloway Gardens Triathlon/Duathlon and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Beta Lambda Lambda Chapter’s 5K/10K event.  Burt passionately believed everyone should “get up and move” regardless of age\, gender\, physical ability\, or socioeconomic standing.  \nThe Burt Clark Foundation will continue Burt’s passion for inspiring and motivating healthier lifestyle choices\, and through your generous donations and proceeds from BCF events will award two college scholarships annually to deserving high school seniors graduating from Burt’s high school alma mater Natchitoches Central High School or that will be attending Burt’s college alma mater Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge\, Louisiana. \nThis Annual RunForBurt 5K Run/Walk fundraiser event will take place at the Historical Downtown Natchitoches River Bank on Saturday October 14\, 2023. DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum as we celebrate the continuing legacy of Louisiana folk fiddling. The program will include a discussion with three past Louisiana State Fiddle Champions on the importance of this tradition and  will include live music.  The performance of various regional fiddle styles with demonstrations of fiddle stick playing and twin fiddling will be followed by a Q&A session on participating in fiddle competitions. \n  \nFiddlers of all skill levels are invited to bring their instruments for a jam session with some of Louisiana’s finest fiddlers!
