DESCRIPTION:The NSU Choirs will hold their Fall Choral Concert on Sunday\, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. A livestream of the concert will be available at nsula.edu/capa/capalivestream.\n\nThis performance will feature the Northwestern State University Chamber Choir\, Lyrica and Orpheus. The Chamber Choir will be conducted by Director of Choral Activities Dr. Shane Thomas. Associate Director of Choral Activities Adam Philley will conduct Lyrica and Orpheus. With works centered around two iconic words from Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1933 inaugural address freshly intertwined with the “spooky season\,” the concert titled “Fear Itself” will interplay a wide variety of choral styles\, genres and diversities tinged with elements that celebrate the frightful season.\n\n\nLyrica and Orpheus will sing works by celebrated composers like Narverud\, Main\, Childs\, Englehardt\, Whitacre and Pederson. They are joined by collaborative artists Dan Ley and Mario Gomez Orellana. \nThe Chamber Choir will sing works by Hyu-Won Woo\, DiOrio\, Cordaro\, Pärt\, Rautavaara\, and Orban. They are joined by Dr. Oliver Molina on marimba.

SUMMARY:Jefferson Highway Convoy of Historic Military Vehicles
DESCRIPTION:Members of the Military Preservation Association are convoying 2500 miles on the Jefferson Highway\, from Pines to Palms.  These incredible vehicles will make their way to Natchitoches on Thursday\, October 24th.  On Friday\, October 25th the convoy will travel to the Natchitoches Riverbank where they will be on display beginning at 8:30 AM.  At 5:30 PM a group of the historic military vehicles will lead the NSU Homecoming Parade.  The parade will begin at Prather Coliseum\, travel down Jefferson St and onto Front St.

DESCRIPTION:The Historic District Business Association will hold its 12th Annual Pumpkin Glow on Thursday\, October 24\, at the Rue Beauport Riverbank from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is FREE!All ages are encouraged to attend and are welcome to participate in the pumpkin decorating contest. Cash prizes will be awarded in both carved and painted categories.
