5.      Step back in time and experience French Colonial life at Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historic Site. From the visitor center to the replication of the original Fort, this site is great for the young and the young at heart.

6.      Uncover Louisiana’s sports history at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum. Kids love the sports memorabilia including a race car while also learning about Natchitoches and Northwest Louisiana history.

8.      Go crazy in the Cane River Candy Company choosing from a variety of candies, chocolates, sodas, and specialty shakes! 

9.      Shop Louisiana’s oldest general store – Kaffie Frederick General Mercantile. Shoppers will find classic toys, kitchen gadgets, plants, hardware, and so much more. Make sure to check out the old toys and trucks over the front doors on the interior of the store.
