Pet-friendly Natchitoches

April 11, 2021

Top Five Ways to Involve Your Pet on Your Trip to Natchitoches:

1) Bring your pet for a walk on the trails at Parc Natchitoches, Grady Erwin Nature Trails, or Kisatchie National Forest.

2) Order your favorite restaurant’s food to-go and have a lakeside picnic under the Riverbank Stage Pavilion. Make sure to check out the Beau Jardin Garden & Water Feature and historic Roque House while you’re there!

3) Learn the history of Natchitoches alongside your pet on a carriage ride or at the Cane River Creole National Historical Park.

4) Take your pet for a play day at Pierson & Mallett Park or City Park.

5) Spend a night in one of our pet friendly hotels or bed & breakfasts.

Plus a few extra:

6) Many of Natchitoches' festivals are pet-friendly as long your pet is on a leash.

7) The newest shop of Front Street, called Lady's Leash, sells gear for pets - and their humans. Bring your dog in a for treat. Many of the other shops along Front Street and rue St. Denis also sell  pet-friendly items.

8) Northwestern State University Baseball and other sports seasonally offer pet days at games, such as Bark in the Park.
